Akilah Mitchell is a Trinidadian visual artist and art educator whose work is deeply rooted in love for her homeland. Inspired by historical buildings, iconic landscapes, and everyday ‘Trini moments,’ her paintings capture the spirit of Trinidad and Tobago in a way that feels both personal and timeless.
From High School Passion to Global Storytelling
Her artistic journey began at the age of 13 during high school art classes…
Throughout her academic journey, art remained a constant source of therapy…
In 2018, Akilah completed her Magnificent Seven collection…
She is the founder of Art by Akilah, a multi-faceted creative brand… [List studio at Centre of Excellence, woodwork shop, and nature-based Sip & Paint events].
Akilah is currently working toward her goal of pursuing a PhD in Art Education, aiming to inspire, educate, and preserve the cultural treasures of the twin-island republic for future generations
